 Prompt: I really liked this class, especially when we studied poetry. It was the most fun part for me. The assignment I enjoyed most was when we got to write our own poem about a special memory. I connected with poetry because I finally learned how to read and understand what poems mean, which felt like a big win! For next semester, I know I need to work on making the first sentence of my paragraphs, called the topic sentence, much clearer.

In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders intruding on their land and their lives. Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

 Prompt: When I use to play baseball my friends and I always played with each other for our travel season. Their dads were the coaches and so was my dad. We played from about 7U to 12U together, we were basically family. Sadly eventually people started leaving and sooner or later we were all gone. So I had to go a real travel team, I tried out for this brand new program called Atlanta Fuego and I knew absolutely nobody. I felt so out of place and almost like I didn't belong there for a while. Then I kinda started to mingle with the new kids and coaches and I grew pretty fond of them a couple of months in. But it was very weird and hard for me to make it feel like home again. Summary: Today in class we completed a common lit since Mr. Rease was out. Reflection: I learned what the definition of Interloper was from the story "The Interlopers".

 Prompt:  Our group had trouble finding sources that were both reliable and easy to understand. Sometimes we disagreed about which information was most important to include. To solve this, we talked through our ideas and explained why we chose certain sources. We used group chats and shared documents to stay organized and communicate clearly. In the end, we worked together and combined our ideas to create a stronger analysis. Summary: Today in class we combined all of our sources. Reflection: I learned all the amendments about civil rights.
